The Hippopotamus and the Tortoise

' Much of life can never be explained but only witnessed' - Rachel Naomi Remen, MD

NAIROBI
(AFP) - A baby hippopotamus that survived the
tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast has formed a strong
bond with a giant male century-old tortoise in an animal
facility in the port city of Mombassa, officials said

The hippopotamus, nicknamed
Owen and weighing about
300 kilograms (650 pounds), was swept down Sabaki
River into the Indian Ocean , then forced back to shore
when tsunami waves struck the Kenyan coast on
December 26, before wildlife rangers rescued him.

'It is incredible. A-less-than-a-year-old hippo has adopted a
male tortoise, about a century old, and the tortoise seems to
be very happy with being a 'mother',' ecologist Paula Kahumbu,
who is in charge of Lafarge Park , told AFP.

'After it was swept away and lost its mother, the hippo was traumatized.
It had to look for something to be a surrogate mother.
Fortunately , it landed on the tortoise and established a strong bond.
They swim, eat and sleep together,' the ecologist added.
'The hippo follows the tortoise exactly the way it followed its mother.
If somebody approaches the tortoise, the hippo becomes aggressive,
as if protecting its biological mother,' Kahumbu added.

'The hippo is a young baby, he was left at a very tender age and
by nature, hippos are social animals that like to stay with their
mothers for four years,' he explained.

'Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away.'

This is a real story that shows that our differences don't matter
much when we need the comfort of another.
We could all learn a lesson from these two creatures of God,
'Look beyond the differences and find a way to walk the path together.'

'Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves.'

God Own Miraculous Touch

Touch of God
Seen the wind blows sand to a mountian?
The sands make the rakes of sandunes.
Intense snowfall that resembles a Flood?
Flash flood of water which takes away lands?
But God has reasons for all the calamities?
The 'why' has a reason that none can contradicts.
====================================
This snow fall happened in Ras Al Khaima, UAE on 24th Jan 2009.Can you believe it happened in the gulf too.....These photographs are not taken by me, but forwarded to me to my mail.
Sharing it to the world with a poem, to God who can do miracles in even in the burning Dessert land. Attached some of the pictures of the Dessert land too.

The same land in the 'hot seasaon'...it boils even the blood to water.

Anubhav-the creative zest

By name,he is Anubhav.....but he has been so,creative in his life and has been an 'anubhav(experience)' to others. A good singer and most of all,his fingers had been creating life like artwork. Anubhav is an 8th standard student of ChistNagar School, Trivandrum. He has been good friend to his class mates and one of the favorites of his teachers too.

This ship is totally made with cardboard sheets and plain papers, glue made of water and maida. His level of patience obvious while doing such work is seen in the perfect detailing, he created in this pirate ship.
I was told by Anubhav himself, that
he was never taught or asked to make his own creative line. His own imagination had been redirected and moulded by his own spirits and mind.

This is he himself showing how miniature, his ship is when you hold it your hand, from that one point you could make out how much patience is needed for such a beautiful creation to be made. Well done Anubhav..... carry on with your creative line.

Sujatha Menon-An epitom of womenhood

She walked in like a total stranger
She became so close to heart
Hearts poured out to her like streams,
There was strong words of strength & faith
Reverted back into me,just as she looked,
Confident and strong like a windmill.
Life could be THIS,as she poured her episodes,
My small droplets of pain seems worthless.
All could be Insecurities of mind dramatized.
So she says smile when you feel pain
The smile that God gave us as protection
Around us and around our hearts that beats.

മനസ്സിനെ സ്വന്തനപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന നിശ്ചലത

These words are my version of Calmness...............copied and collected knowledge. from here and there........to calm my own mind. The picture was apt coordination to clarify my line of thought.

Definition of calmness???. Meaning of calmness. What does calmness mean? Calmness is the cradle of power.Calmness is a mental state wherein the mind is not turbulent, but open and reflective. Some people find that focusing the mind on something external, or even internal, such as the breathing, can itself be very calming.

Calmness is a quality that can be cultivated and increased with practice. One such activity is fishing.... and the calmness of a lake and evening setting sun........... atmosphere can bring in soothing calmness to your mind.
